Edward J. Strobierski

Edward J. Stobierski was president of the Derby‐Shelton Rotary Club in 1962‐1963. He was the Town  clerk for the City of Derby from 1947 until 1970. He was born in Derby on April 6, 1914. His father came  from Austria and his mother was from Poland. He was a veteran of World War II. Besides serving as  town clerk, he was also an assistant funeral director and embalmer at Adzima’s funeral home.  He was married to Alice May Odell, who was the daughter of the city’s police chief. The two evidently  met while Alice May was working as an assistant town clerk. They were married in 1951 and had one  son, John.
