Anthony DellaMonica
Anthony F. DellaMonica, served as President of the Derby-Shelton Rotary Cub for Rotary year 1983-84. Tony also served as Club Secretary for 10 years and had perfect attendance for 30 years. He was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow from the Rotary Foundation and the Normam Parsells Award from the Rotary District for his years of service. He was born in Derby, CT on April 2, 1929 son of the late Ciro and Marie Antoinette Rapuano and was a longtime resident of Shelton. He was married to Margaret "Midge" Canganelly and father of Anthony DellaMonica D.V.M and Lyn DellaMonica Baumgartel. He was a barber on Howe Avenue for 57 years and owned Anthony's Family Hair Care Center for over 30 years before retiring.
He was on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley for over 25 years and was a member of the Shelton Planning & Zoning Commission from 1981 to 1986. Tony was a member of Shelton's Conservation Commission and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the Outdoor columnist for the "Suburban News" and a Board Member of the Shelton Businessmen's Association. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, the Seymour Fish and Game Club and former member of the Connecticut Wildlife Federation. Tony DellaMonica passed away at age 84 on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Apple Rehab at Shelton Lakes.
