Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 45 years, and today, we are closer than ever to a polio-free world.
Rotary’s fight against polio began in 1979, when Rotary members helped vaccinate children in the Philippines. Building on that success, Rotary became a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988.
Since then, polio cases worldwide have been reduced by 99.9%—an incredible achievement, but our work is not finished.
The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club is proud to support Rotary International’s mission to END POLIO NOW. Every fundraiser, donation, and show of support brings us one step closer to a world where no child will ever have to suffer from polio again.
