One of the true honours of being a Rotarian is to induct new members into Rotary.  We had the honour of inducting Shannon Sygusch into their Rotary family. Visiting District Governor Lynne Chant, spoke about the power of Rotary and how Rotary connections enrich our lives. Rotary connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas to take action and create lasting change across the globe and in local communities. Their work impacts lives in many ways from helping families in need in local communities to working globally toward a polio- free world.

Shannon was sponsored by Rotarian Tony Davidson. Shannon is not a stranger to the BEL Rotary Family as she was sponsored by the club as a Youth Exchange student in 1996 – 97, when she made Germany her home.

After graduating from the Business Administration program at Trent, Shannon attended Fleming Collage and earned a technical diploma in Computer Engineering Technology. She had a very rewarding career in technology but always dreamed of returning to Peterborough and joining the family business at Craftworks.

She married her husband Damien in 2019 and soon after they moved to Selwyn. Shannon is looking forward to giving back to the community and the BEL Club is looking forward to her enthusiasm and energy. Welcome to Rotary Shannon!
