“A Life that Made a Difference”
The Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground officially opened on August 24th, 2019.
Built in memory of 32-year-old RCMP Constable, Sarah Beckett, who was killed by a drunk driver in the line of duty on April 5, 2016 the new playground is a special place for families to come together.
The Rotary Club of West Shore spent 2019 fundraising to meet the $250,000 goal to build the playground. Funds came from the Club’s Annual Lobster Fest and BBQ’s at different events and from the Community who graciously donated tens of thousands of dollars through the Buy A Brick Campaign.
We are proud of the community for coming together to create this space to remember Sarah’s sacrifice.
