I have scheduled the second cleanup of the south side of State Route 104 from the Henery's Hardware Store to Rite Aid at George’s Corner Saturday Saturday 9 September at 10:00am. We will rally at the far side of the parking lot by the Hardware Store and more importantly Borrowed Kitchen Bakery at 10:00am (I will have some treats). I will have the WSDOT provided PPE (reflective vests, road signs, and picker uppers for our group. We will also have durable trash bags. If there are any last minute volunteers, we will have a little extra. After this cleanup, we can apply for a sign showing our clubs efforts.

Three ways to signup:

  1. Jackie created a signup genius at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4da9a723a3fdc34-rotary1#/.
  2. You can email me at timcarr51@gmail.com, or
  3. let me know at Rotary.

If you have not participated before you should do the following:

  1. You need to watch the safety video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBxIh67-l74.  It is short and "slightly entertaining".
  2. There is a form to read and sign.  I hope that I attached the form to this email, but will have paper copies at the rally point.  I will collect these or you can email back to me.  I have several that were emailed to me.
  3. There is also a safety tips write-up to read.  We will have a brief JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
  4. You should have gloves (I will have a few extra pairs), wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt, and thick-soled boots or shoes (no flip-flops or open toe shoes).

We will disburse teams via car pools and should be able to make a significant impact in cleaning up this stretch of highway in short order.

The road always needs a cleaned up, and it will probably worse after the Labor Day weekend.  This is a way to make Kingston and the gateway to Kitsap County presentable.
