These are the 4 R’s of MARS Wildlife Rescue. We had the pleasure of meeting MARS ambassador Ottis Jr.Volunteer handler Terry Chaney spoke at length about Ottis Jr. and other owls who inhabit the forests in the Comox Valley area. Ottis Jr. is a Pacific Northwestern Screech Owl. Our club has been a supporter of MARS for over a decade. Also visiting was MARS Vice President Pearl McKenzie who thanked us for our continued support and spoke extensively on the new Visitor’s Center at their facility on Williams Beach Road in Merville. We have auctioned Raptor Releases at many Extravaganzas, a very popular item.
