District Governor Rose visits our club

It was our pleasure to welcome 2015-2016 District Governor Rose Bowman and her husband Leon Bowman..
DG Bowman began her presentation to us by thanking AG Robert Buckley for his contribution to District 5020 and also to our own John Challender for his years of service at the District level in Public Relations and also to our guest Chip Ross who serves as the Vocational Services Chair for the District. She also thanked her husband of 53 years Leon for his support and encouragement.
She brought us greeting from RI President K.R. Ravindran. “Each one is made because so many people have helped us become who we are, we are molded by family, by community, by country and by Rotary” That’s why the focus for his year as RI President is about giving back and that’s why the focus for you and I should be all about giving back. How do we do that? There are many, many opportunities, we just have to recognize them when they come along.

DG Bowman asked a very interesting question “Are you a member of Rotary or are you a Rotarian”? She said that she was a member of Rotary when she started in Rotary in 1996 and through many “Rotary Experiences” became a Rotarian.
DG Bowman also announced that the District Conference in June 2016 will be held in Olympia Washington and encouraged everyone to make plans to attend.
