Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial Creates Christmas in September for Extended Care Residents at Cumberland Lodge

It's Christmas in September at Cumberland Lodge.  Seen here are Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial Treasurer, John Jones (standing at left) and Committee Chair, Dave Stevens (standing at right) presenting a representative group of Cumberland Lodge residents with a new refrigerator for their recreation room and also MP3 players and head phones for use in in Cumberland Lodge's Music Therapy Program. Seated starting at left is Mona Johnson, President of Residence Council John Rheault, Charlotte Lauret and Norm Silvester.  Having just finished dinner at Cumberland Rotary's monthly "Dining In" Program the residents retired to the recreation room where the presentations were made. Research has proven that music cannot only improve the mood of people with neurological diseases it can also increase cognitive skills and listening to familiar loved music can awaken the person inside.
