The Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department has promoted the installation of fire alarms in homes in the Village for many years.  The Fire Department has raised funds and donated alarms to a large number of homes in the Village of Cumberland.  At its regular meeting on Tuesday, President Kim Sleno of the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial presented a cheque for $500 to Fire Chief Mike Williamson.  Chief Williamson was grateful for the support and, because the department is able to purchase good alarms for one half the normal price, will distribute alarms to fifty homes in the community.  Funds raised at the club’s annual Extravaganza Italiana are used for community and world service projects.
