THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH. A fun activity where Club Members prepare, serve and eat with residents of Cumberland Lodge Extended Care Facility. Sometimes we cook - in summer time we BBQ and most times we purchase "healthy" food like Chinese Take Out, Fish & Chips etc. The residents who attend enjoy interacting with our members one to one. Dave Stevens is the coordinator and if you would like to attend let him know at the next meeting.

Pam Willis - Comox Valley Senior Support Society
Sep. 11, 2018
Comox Valley Senior Peer Support provides emotional support to Comox Valley seniors who are experiencing isolation, loneliness, and depression, or who are feeling vulnerable due to challenging situations they face or endure. We do this through the programs we offer: Friendly Visiting, Caregiver Support, Senior Information and Access Support (SIAS), Transit Information and Access Support (Transit Ambassador). We use a ‘peer support’ approach. Our volunteers are all seniors themselves who come from a variety of backgrounds. We work within a non-clinical framework, approaching the people we support as equals. Respect, trust, practical support and confidentiality are hallmarks of our work. |
