The Friends from the Watershed, along with the Rotary Club of Bracebridge, held an ash can distribution day on October 3, 2020 at the Rotary Centre for Youth.
Present on this day were Friend of the Watershed Paul Grinnell, Rotarian and Friend of the Watershed Neil Hutchinson and Rotarian Nancy Cox-Godfrey.
Fireplace ash is collected to spread on forest floors to help trees absorb much needed calcium.  Calcium then helps the trees absorb water which, in turn, helps reduce spring flooding.
This is a Muskoka wide project for the Watershed Council.
