Members of the Columbian community in Toronto and from the Rotary Club of Bracebridge raised over $20,000 in funds for Colombia’s San Andrés Archipelago, hit hard by a Category 5 hurricane in November, 2020.  Located about 230 miles off of the coast of Nicaragua, the storm primarily hit the island of Providencia, demolishing the scant infrastructure, including thousands of homes and the local hospital.  Bracebridge Rotarian Gabe Rubio-Cotte (born and raised in Columbia), Pres. Brenda Rhodes and Rotarian Richard Borland, receive a cheque from the members of the Toronto-Columbian community that will be sent, along with Club funds, to a Columbian Rotary Club in Bogota, who are helping with relief efforts.
