ON OCTOBER 24, 2017, the Rotary Club of Bracebridge, along with the Rotary Club of Bracebridge-Muskoka Lakes, held a District 7010 wide walk for Polio Awareness.  Over 46 members walked up the main street of Bracebridge wearing red ponchoes denoting the theme of the walk.  Over 1700 Rotarians of Rotary District 7010 purchased ponchos with proceeds going to the Polio Plus program to eradicate the disease from the world.
Last year only 12 cases of polio were reported in the world.  These cases were located in the countries of Afganistan and Pakistan.  Rotary has been working to eradicate polio since 1985 and they are now very close to accomplishing this feat.
