The Coppell Rotary Club is supporting  Train and Help Babies(t&hb.com) in a fundraising Walk-A-Thon on May 28, 8AM-12 PM at Andy Brown Park East. The event is  being used to create awareness of the difference a newborn life can make in a community and to raise matching funds that can be used for equipment and ongoing training by medical professionals for  best practices to sustain infant survivability.
T&HB is a Coppell -based community organization founded by local Doctors Prakash Kabbur and Sumana Nanjundachar. The doctors developed the model for training and sustainability while practicing in Hawaii and found the need for this kind of community support in the outer islands where medical care is rare and often widely scheduled.
The T&HB organization has been a part of the Coppell Rotary Club International Service  projects since its inception  and is being supported by RI District 5810, RI District 3170  and Rotary International (rotary.org). The Rotary Foundation focuses on six areas, including maternal and child health along with education,  disease prevention and treatment , peace and conflict resolution, water and sanitation and economic and community development.  Although T&HB's first project is in India the goal is to build a model transferable to any area worldwide where Rotary International and a community need exists.
The Coppell Rotary Club invites all interested parties to join with us in helping to provide the best healthcare outcome for newborns everywhere. Come visit us at at the Black Walnut Cafe on the first and third  Thursdays each month , or join us at one of our activities found on the Coppell Rotary Club home page.
