Kempenfelt Tree Planting Day - Oct 24th

Please join us for a fun filled day of planting some trees in the lovely Minesing Wetlands with the Notawasaga Valley Conservation Authority.

We currently can have up to for 40 volunteers to plant 400 trees. If we have extra people we are setting up a waiting list as we may be aloud more.

Minesing Community Tree Planting

Date: October 24th

Time: 9:30am – 3:00pm

Baldwick Lane, Springwater (map)

(near 3332 Baldwick Lane)

Mission:  Help plant native trees and shrubs to enhance the fencerows of this Minesing Wetlands property for birds and wildlife

Please bring:

·         Closed toed boots/shoes

·         Shovel if you have it*  

·         Gloves*

·         Water and Snacks and lunch

·         Covid accessories: mask, hand sanitizer, gloves (strange days eh?  But there’s lots of room to socially distance together happily.  The mask is just for in case we bunch up a touch.)

*We’ll have extra Shovels and gloves if you don’t

Note: planting rain or shine – cancelled for lightening storms.

 The health and safety of our staff and volunteers is very important. I want to assure you that we have strict health and safety protocols that we will be following at the event. Some of the precautions we are taking include:

• All participants fill out a health questionnaire prior to the event (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening/worker/ )
• Do not attend if you are feeling unwell or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19
• Ensuring all attendees always maintain at least 2 metres of distance.
• Bring a mask.  Masks must be worn in any case where distance cannot be maintained.
• The equipment required for the day will be sanitized before use.  Avoid sharing tools between people (every effort will be made to reduce the need to share equipment by assigning jobs/equipment to certain people).
• Work gloves will be provided.
• Hand sanitizer will be available
