Announcements

  • The MURC meeting on Wednesday, June 30th, will be a Club Assembly  for members only.  Members will discuss their vision for the club during the next Rotary year, which begins on July 1, 2021, and will discuss roles and responsibilities.  Please plan to attend!
 
  • The MURC reached its goal of donating $10,000 to Rotary International during the current Rotary year, which ends June 30th.  Well done!
 
  • "Reimagining Public Safety in Cities Across America"  A virtual meeting will be held featuring special guest, Anthony Smith, of Cities United.  This will be a discussion, so come and share your perspective and ideas on Thursday, June 24th, 2021, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. CST.

Brag-a-Bucks
  • Erik spend a weekend in western Montana, where he found fresh bear tracks in the snow; he was reminded to carry bear spray!
  • Cristina welcomed Makayla Schwieg to the call, who works with Cristina and was interested in the speaker for today, as well as our club generally.  Glad to have Mikayla with us today!
  • Jerry talked about his recent 30-mile bike ride, during which he enjoyed lots of nature and wildlife; he saw eagles and eaglets, great blue heron, and lots of lakes and rivers.  He is heading to the North Shore soon for trout fishing.
  • Bob welcomed new members Rich Berkley and Tsehai and Lyle, as well as our visitor Makayla.

Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology, University of Minnesota, spoke about the ecology, evolution and conservation of wild, native bees.  Fascinating!
