STRATEGIC PLAN 2011-2012

During a special Board of Director’s Meeting on May 12, 2011, the Board of Directors set 8 goals for the Club year beginning July 1, 2011. Target dates, responsible committee and individual are identified for each goal. Most goals will be completed by June 30, 2012. Some have only the initial step identified and will continue through future club years.

Affirmations:

  1. The Rotary Club of Whitefish (Club) will continue to make our weekly meetings full of fellowship and good fun.

  2. The Club will continue to support and encourage membership diversity and growth.

  3. The Club will continue to support and encourage participation in The Rotary Foundation.

  4. The Club will focus on Leadership training via interaction with local Rotary clubs, Webinars, District meetings and District conferences.

  5. The Club re-affirms our whole hearted support to eradicate Polio.

  1. The Club will actively promote 100% participation in The Rotary Foundation. Chairman of the Foundation Committee, Scott Ringer, is the action person for this goal and the targeted completion date is March 1, 2012

  2. The Club will strive to increase the number and diversity of membership. The minimal targets are to increase net membership by one member, maintain an 85% minimum retention rate, and two of the following:

    2% increase in qualified women
    2% increase in qualified younger professionals (under age of 45) Induction of one or more RI Rotary Foundation program alumni Increased diversity (e.g., classification, gender, age)

    Chairman of the Membership Committee, A.J. Spear, will head this regard and the targeted completion date for this goal is March 1, 2012.

  3. The Club will increase our internal efforts to educate our current membership about what Rotary is: locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Chairman of the Membership Committee, A.J. Spear, will take the lead with support from the entire Board of Directors. Speaking to the general membership about ALL that Rotary does do to make a difference in the World today. This will be an ongoing project throughout the fiscal year.

  4. The Club will define a new “Big Local Project”. Project Committee Chairman, Mark Kuhr, will lead the committee to take the first step and identify the new Local Project by June 30, 2011. Target steps and dates for implementation will be identified after the project has been accepted by the Board of Directors and the Club membership.

  5. The Board of Directors identified a new area we would like the Club membership to support, identifying national projects and needs that are not local. The target date to identify a lead person and committee will be August 31, 2011. A budget amount will need to be identified for the upcoming fiscal year.

  1. The Club will support Leadership Training for Board members and other interested Rotary Club of Whitefish members. Club President, Sue Carstens, will be heading these efforts, with the initial goal of setting up a schedule of joint meetings with the other local Rotary Club leadership by July 1, 2011.

  2. The Club re-affirms support for our annual Polio Plus donation. A donation amount of $1000 has been identified as our goal for the upcoming fiscal year. This effort will be headed up by Joe Basirico and he will present fundraising plans for this effort by September 30, 2011 to the Board of Directors.

  3. The Club will define a new “Big International Project”. International Committee Chairman, Cristy Wells, will identify and present this new International Project for consideration by July 31, 2011 to the Board of Directors. Target steps and dates for implementation will be identified after the project has been accepted by the Board of Directors and the Club membership.
