International Service Trips -2023
If you are interested in attending a service trip with either the Bozeman Rotary Club or the Western Montana Rotary Global Coalition here is the information:
Kenya: Water Project Visit and Safari October 1 - 10, 2023 . DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS FEBRUARY 20, 2023. (See pdf “BSRC Kenya Oct2023” for costs and contact information)
Visit remote villages in Kenya where RC Bozeman Sunrise is supporting several water and women's empowerment projects via a Rotary district grant. Spend time in these villages, meet the women affected, and explore the arid Turkana region to understand why these issues are of critical importance.
Guests on this trip will then travel to the Maasa Mara Wildlife Reserve for 3 days on safari. Based out of one of the premier eco-camps which is setting a new standard for sustainability in Africa, you'll head out each day at dawn and dusk looking for predators and prey alike. You also have a very good chance of catching the Great Migration before the wildebeests and zebras head back south into the Serengeti. This is one of the best places in Africa to go on a safari.
RC Bozeman Sunrise District Grant title: Empower Women for Resilience
The Kenya project will work in 4 communities, specifically with women’s groups. The 4 project components are: 1) repairing wells and community water management; 2) introducing solar water pumping systems; 3) working with women’s groups to establish community horticulture or gardens; and 4) training on business opportunities and skills, and women’s rights. These skills will enable women to better manage risk and mitigate the impacts from recurring drought.
