February Ramblings
The February 1st social hour was held at the Ronan Brewery.  5 Rotarians were in attendance with 4 guests.  The Rotary team "Here for Beer", consisting of Jake, Brett and Dee Ann won the Brewery Trivia contest.
 
February 8th had 19 Rotarians in attendance.  New members approved at the board meeting before were Devin Huntley and Cheryl Maldonado.  Gayle Siemers was also approved as club President Elect Nominee for 2023-24, his second term as president (85-86).
 
Larry Robertson of Flathead Lake Vineyard & Winery was the speaker.  Larry has been very active politically in building a positive agricultural business environment and in developing awareness of the potential vineyard impacts in Montana.
 
The meeting of February 15th was light in attendance with only 7 enjoying lunch in a casual setting.
 
The meeting of February 22 had 17 in attendance.  Laura Dever (in photo above) was inducted as a new member.  Doug Wold was awarded a Membership award for his 50 plus years in Rotary.  Doug related he attended his first Rotary meeting at age 5 as his mother helped serve lunch at her husband's Rotary. 
Since the program had cancelled, Brooke spoke about the Youth Exchange.  The Polson student has accepted Brazil as destination.  Now the search has started to find up to 3 families in Polson to host a incoming  student.
 
Gayle also spoke about the progress of Shodair Hospital in starting an outpatient clinic for children in Polson.
