  • Jamie Russell From Clearwater Real Estate donated just under $2,000 to our Rotary club so we are combining that with our grant for the library books. 
  • District Conference - Jamie helped put together a basket for the conference that was a 2 night stay at the Bed & Breakfast on Wild Horse Island, our basket raised $600.
  • Next year District Conference will be in Missoula
  • We had 13 scholarship applications and we awarded 2 $1500 scholarships and 1 $500 scholarship. Colter, Hope, & Vicki
• Heather - Grant Application
  • Faculty at SKC, seeking grant funds to send her to Guatemala to train their teachers in math education
  • She will be partnering with educators, going on home visits, and seeking to write a grant for $150,000 to attend next summer. Board will discuss.
• Dennis Duty will be the next president! Hooray!

• Program - Anna Ofstad, PhD, founder of Zylient
  • Increase awareness of seismic awareness, and studies of where and how often slip faults are. There are faults everywhere in this area, there is a fault right underneath the mission mountain range through Bigfork. Have done a scenarios earthquake if that were to happen a 7.4 in Ronan. Her background is how masonry fails. Studied in Haiti and Mexico, showed images from previous earthquakes. Shared a story about how she went with a Mexican local to an abandoned area to open up roads and get supply lines going. 
  • Disaster impact on the community, the suicide rate increases for 3 years after a disaster. 
  • Look at buildings in Kalispell and determine what would happen to the building if there were a disaster, specifically, Firehouse. 
  • Working to improve the community by getting safer buildings. They are having conversations about what to do if there were an earthquake, focusing on Helena right now. There is training any community can do, bring in someone from FEMA, they can score the building to see what would happen during seismic activity. 
  • Trying to move the needle one community at a time, starting in Helena, next Kalispell!
