District 5390 leadership has been active, sharing information during the monthly District Leadership Zoom Meeting on December 11.
  • The District Foundation Chair position will open beginning July 1 and DG-Elect Rick Powers is looking for someone who may be interested in serving in that important district role. A three-year term, the new Foundation Chair will serve 2023-2026. Contact Rick Powers if interested.
  • District Conference 2023 registration is now available on the district website at montanarotary.org. The conference takes place May 5-6 in Miles City, MT, and promises to be a great event, including a Kentucky Derby theme complete with horses.
  • The district is offering ROTARY RECONNECT, a training on ClubRunner from 9 am-noon on Saturday, January 21, handy for any Rotary member whether you have used ClubRunner in the past or never ever logged in. Our club Treasurer Kathy Schulte and Past President Victoria Emmons Bouzina both serve on the District Training Committee and are helping with the training. ClubRunner is a powerful tool for club organization and you need to learn its value!
  • PETS registration is now available on the district website. PETS offers required training for club presidents-elect (PE) and presidents-elect nominees (PEN). The conference for new club leaders will be held in Denver March 3-5.
  • Kudos to the Rotary Club of Bozeman on the success of its recent auction. The club raised $90,000 in only two hours!
  • District Grant Chair Mike Mayott announced that all grant funds for 2022-2023 have been allocated. The "soft deadline" to apply for grants for 2023-2024 is January 31, 2023.
  • Mike Mayott is also now chairing Youth Exchange for the district. He reported that outbound applications are being processed with interviews scheduled for the week of December 20. He said that inbound students for this current year are faring well, suggesting that these international exchange students should be invited to our clubs to speak. Clubs in Billings, Polson, Bozeman, and Livingston all hosted students this year.
A reminder that the Missoula club is in Area 2 and our Assistant Governor (AG) for Area 2 is Victoria Emmons Bouzina. If you have questions or interest in district service or happenings, feel free to contact the AG.
