09/22/10 Minutes
Wednesday, September 22nd, General Meeting
Meeting started at 7:40pm.
Good day everyone, great meeting on Wednesday: 22 people in showed , that's a new record! We all thank Martha Ripley, one of our co-advisors and , for being available: your help and input is always appreciated! There were a lot of discussion topics this time, pertaining to RotarAct goals, project brainstorming, logos and so on. Here's the gist of it:
Goals
We settled on some pretty ambitious goals for this year. The theme of goal setting seemed to be Doubles. Double everything we did last year:
Twice the group members: 30ish?
Domestic projects: 2 every month
International aid: 2 events this year
Charitable donations: $3,000.00
Bankroll: $500 left in bank for next year
Logo Competition
We need a unique Missoula RotarAct logo! It will be used on nametags, forms, and advertisements. If you are feeling artsy, please design a logo, and send it to
missoularotaract@gmail.com by Sept 29th!
Brainstorming
We started to brainstorm some ideas, but we all need to bring some ideas to the
next meeting. Ideas about what you ask? What 'cause' would like to work with?
Who would you like to help? What are local projects we could do? What are some events we could host to raise donations; and for what cause? (This year, we are defining a "project" as something that uses Rotaract time and energy to directly help people. An "event" is expected to raise money, which we donate to indirectly help a cause). Next meeting: October 6th and it's a fun one! We will be having a BBQ at my
house; 100 Keith Ave. Show up anytime after 6:00pm. We will eat and meet at 7:00
Please let me know if you have any diet restrictions, or if you would like directions! BYOB
