02/24/10 Minutes

Minutes 2/24/10 Meeting starting at 8:35 We are wanting to continue working with Watson's and in March we will be organizing some outside games since it will be nicer weather. We are thinking about doing kickball as well as other fun games, as they have a field that is made especially for kickball! Watson's second home will be opening this spring and we are hoping to do a lot to help them get all the necessities into their home. We want to be able to set up something so that we can go to different businesses and hopefully get donations in order to get new supplies. For more on our concert, we locked down Wartime Blues and so that will be really great for the night! We are very excited to have them and are looking for good bands to coincide with them. *The President of Rotary Noon Club is at our meeting tonight and is helping us sign our bi laws and constitution. He is helping us get started with everything so that club is official. He mentioned that they are interested in having us for lunch at one of their meetings coming up and so if anyone is interested we will be planning something very soon. We are going to be presenting our ideas and goals for our upcoming projects and giving some background information on the CAI in which all of our proceeds will be going to! We are trying to get a lot of sponsorships for the concert and we are actually having a competition, who ever can get the most sponsor donations will win a prize! We want people to get into teams of two and go around to different businesses. We have different levels of sponsorship starting from $25 dollars up to $500, we will obviously be putting a lot of advertisement and promotion out there for the businesses who help us make this possible. We are making a list of sponsor "titles and gifts" that we will be able to explain into further detail. Our sponsors will receive free tickets to the concert as well as raffle tickets and held places for our advertisement on flyers etc. However we will post this up on Face book for everyone to see so that when you go to your businesses you will be able to tell them then and there more about it. Next week we will need to have a name confirmed for our benefit concert in April, it would be great if anyone could come up with something catchy. There are a few names right now that we are considering however we don't have any that we are set on as of now. Somebody threw out an idea about putting on a little show on campus during an afternoon. It is a great chance for small college bands to pay 5 or 10 dollars and get some exposure! It won't be one of our big fundraisers but there would be profit that we could use towards our benefit concert. We will be posting flyers around the dorms and around campus in order to get people interested. We will put more specific information up once it is confirmed.
