Trooper Corey Hebner, a 28-year veteran of the Michigan State Police, Gaylord Post, will speak about Social Media Addiction at our next meeting.
Our monthly club meeting will begin at 11:45 AM on Wednesday, February 26 at the Riverside Bar & Grill, 6253 River Street in Alanson (blue building behind the Alanson Post Office).
Corey received a BS in Criminal Justice at Lake Superior State University, and currently serves as a Community Services Trooper. Off-duty, Trooper Hebner devotes his time and energy as the varsity and junior varsity baseball coach for Harbor Springs High School, and head coach for the Northern Michigan Patriots travel baseball team. At home, he enjoys living with his wife, two sons, and two dogs, including Lululemon, a French bulldog.
Rotary International Charter
On Wednesday, January 29, we met to receive an enthusiastic presentation about the "Magic of Rotary" from Brianna Scott, our District Governor. Twenty-six members and guests attended, including two past District Governors, a District Governor-elect, and several members of area Rotary Clubs. Chris Henderschott, owner of the Riverside, prepared a delicious pasta buffet topped off with a decorative cake from the Dutch Oven Bakery, and a beautiful bouquet from Flowers by Melissa (at Betsy Lawrence's suggestion, we auctioned them off, and thanks to Tommy Fairbairn, we added $50 to our Happy Bucks coffers).
Mark Andresky, our District Governor-elect from Charlevoix Rotary, Pat Ryde, our President, Brianna Scott, current District 6290 Governor, and Chris Etienne, past District Governor, Rotary Zone 28 International Director, and member of the Petoskey Noon Club.
Brianna Scott, Rotary District Governor, visits our club to congratulate our celebrity status as the first new Rotary Club in northern Michigan in 25 years!
Pat Ryde, President, welcomes new members (from left to right) Sally Crowley, and Bill Reiman with his wife, Gayle. Randy Evans, club co-founder, delivered the new member induction. Sally and David, her husband, own Pet Pantry, a pet food supplies store in Harbor Springs. Sally transfers to us from Petoskey Sunrise Rotary where she was active in event planning. Bill Reiman has retired from a successful business career in aerospace and furniture manufacturing management, and has owned and operated two retail businesses. Gayle, his wife, in addition to a career in health care, has served as volunteer treasurer for another Rotary Club.
Salvation Army Receives Club Contribution
Pat Ryde presents a check for $500 to Roman Hank, Salvation Army Envoy. Roman has been a soldier in the Salvation Army since 2003. Even though our club is less than a year old, we have donated $3,000 to local charities.
