Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) is a Rotary International student exchange program for students in secondary school.  Since 1927, Rotary International has sent young people around the globe to experience new cultures.  Having begun in Europe, RYE spread to North America in 1939.  In 1972, the Rotary International Board of Directors agreed to make RYE an official program of Rotary International.  Currently, about 9,000 students are sponsored by Rotary clubs every year. Typically, students are sent to another country for a year-long stay, generally living with multiple host families during the year and being expected to perform daily tasks within the household as well as attend school in the host country.

With Rotary's Youth Exchange program you will travel to another country, learn a new language, and experience the culture in this new land. You will live with host families as you learn about the culture as you continue your high school education.

As an unofficial ambassador for Rotary, your community, and your country, you will bring the world closer together while you’re making lifetime friends.
