Six Rotary clubs join to support symphony

For the second year in a row, six local Rotary clubs have joined to form a cooperative sponsorship of Glacier Symphony and Chorale. Kalispell Daybreak, Kalispell Noon, Whitefish, Evergreen, Columbia Falls and Bigfork Rotary clubs are participating in the cooperative.

Their $5,000 level sponsorship provides support to the symphony and chorale for programming and to implement its “Wild About Music” youth education programs during the nonprofit’s 30th anniversary season. In return, the clubs will utilize Glacier Symphony and Chorale’s annual program magazine, Overture, to promote Rotary International’s worldwide program to eradicate polio.

The Wild About Music programs include at least five free youth concerts presented at area schools. These programs feature world-renowned guest artists who perform during the season with the Glacier Symphony and Chorale in their Masterworks Series concerts.

The symphony also places professional musicians in middle- and high-school choral, band and orchestra programs across Northwest Montana to perform workshops, master classes and presentations to students. More than 3,000 students get to experience these programs annually. In addition, the symphony and chorale offers free tickets to Masterworks Series concerts to all students through grade 12, providing affordable access to professional-quality live classical music for students and families.
