March is Rotary Water and Sanitation Month

March 22, 2018 is the UN World Water Day. Unlike many parts of our world a safe and plentiful water supply is taken for granted in Denton County. So, to celebrate, we will be moving the time and place of our regular March 22nd meeting Rotary meeting to the Upper Trinity Water Plant on 900 N. Kealy in Lewisville. This is a family event! Our Meeting start time will be 5 PM. The outdoor business meeting will start promptly at 5:15 pm with our normal Rotary moment of inspiration, pledge and happy thoughts, followed by some very brief business matters that President Jeff may need to announce. At 5:30 PM Rich Lubke and a few members of the Upper Trinity Water Treatment plan will do a very interesting short presentation followed by a tour of the Water Plant itself. After the Water Plant Tour, we will convene the Rich Lubke Community Organic Garden for a family picnic where members will be serving our families Hot Dogs and Hamburgers with all the fixins  prepared from the Salvation Army Emergency Canteen.

In addition to the water plant tour, the families will have an opportunity to visit the Rotary Demonstration Aquaponic Grow Bed.

This will be a fun evening for the entire family regardless of age complete with some age appropriate games like name that plant and name that vegetable. We will wrap-up around 7:30 pm which is before dark which Google says is 7:58 pm.
