The Bonners Ferry High School teachers and administrators selected their final Rotary Students of the Month for the 2010-2011 academic school year, Isabella (Bella) Orr and Matthew Evans.

Bella Orr is the daughter of Loren and Cindy Orr, former BF Rotarians. She plans to continue her education at the University of Idaho with a goal to become a child psychologist and own her own practice.  Bella has been an active participant in many community service activities. She has volunteered at the County Restorium and served as a reading tutor, and a volunteer at 4-H After School, Valley View Elementary School Carnival and Clean Up Day. She is also a blood donor and worked on the food drive through Junior Miss. In high school, Bella has been a cheerleader and for four years, she has been the only girl on the golf team.  She also helped organize the 2010 High School Poetry Slam.

Bella is especially proud of her accomplishment of being named one of the Valedictorians this year. She has taken both high school and dual-credit classes in Calculus and Spanish and has maintained a 4.0 GPA.

Matthew Evans is the son of Doug and Darla Evans. He plans to attend the University of Great Falls and major in Athletic Training. He has participated in many high school activities as long as they are related to basketball and soccer. Matt is especially proud of his achievements in being chosen to the All-League Team in basketball for two years and also being recognized by the Idaho Sports Hall of Fame. He has worked many jobs during high school including Idaho Energy Logs and has served his community as a volunteer in “Filling The Bus” for two years. When asked why he should have been selected as Rotary Student of the Month, Matt concluded that he “is a descent student and a good role model.”

Congratulations to Bella and Matt for their recognition as Bonners Ferry Rotary Students of the Month for May 2011.
