REED AND LePOIDEVIN SELECTED AS ROTARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER

Just before the Christmas recess and in the absence of Don Bartling, Dave Walter introduced the senior girl and boy from Bonners Ferry High School as the students of the month for December.

Carissa Reed is the daughter of Joe and Darla Reed of Naples. Carissa participates in choral and instrumental music programs in high schoo. She's also very active in 4-H having received the high points award in 4-H horse twice and along with a friend, started an equestrian drill team. She is also involved in a variety of community service projects as part of her requirements for 4-H including being a children's church teacher and teacher in the preschool class. Carissa is committed to her education and community and has a positive attitude stating that "I never give up."  She plans to attend college and pursue a career in physical therapy or teaching.

Patrick LePoidevin, the son of Barb and Rodney LePoidevin plans to pursue a career in the field of art. He has worked in a variety of odd jobs in the community including mowing lawns and other yard work, fairgrounds maintenance, and has worked in his parents tree nursery (Panhandle Nursery). Patrick has participated in art classes and the art club throughout his four years of high school. He also participated in the high school's "Project Paint The School" program. A proud achievement of his is the mural he painted in 2008 for the rabbit barn. He has been involved in a variety of community services as part of the requirements for 4-H including helping construct the new crow's nest for the outdoor arena to the BC Fairgrounds.
