Rotary News - June 1, 2010
1) Brad asked everyone to consider volunteering for the Swish which will be held on July 31 and Aug 1. To date, only 36 people have signed up and Brad estimates that he will need at least 90 people. Plans for the Swish are progressing, and Brad commented that he found a local business to supply the backboards. 2) Clarence has achieved the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award. He is the tenth member of our club to have done so. Congrats, Clarence!! 3) The Rotary banquet (it's really going to be a barbecue) will take place on June 12th, so be sure to sign up. Contact Bill McClintock for reservations. 4) Thanks to Mark McInnes for going to Canada to spread the word about the WaCanId Ride which is coming up this summer. We appreciate all you do, Mark! 5) Rob Fredericks of Cascade Creek Farm spoke with us about the organic and humane practices he uses on his farm. It was very interesting and informative. Thanks, Rob, and we hope you decide to join Rotary (yes, we accept farmers!) 6) Clarence announced that he will need help with the Kootenai River Ride, so check your calendars and see if you can help out. See you next Tuesday!
