BF High School Students of the Month - October 2010
Don Bartling presented the Bonners Ferry High School "Students of the Month" for October at the October 26th club meeting. A senior girl and boy are selected by the teachers and administration based on the student's academic achievement, and their commitment and contributions to their school, community and family.

Charena Branscum, daughter of Jerry and Tamy Branscum, is very active in school activities. Some of these activities include being a member and treasurer of the National Honor Society, co-captain of the Varsity Dance team, a member of the high school symphonic and pep bands, a member of the foreign language society and an actress, dancer and choreographer for local theater. She has been a participant in food drives and assisted at the annual Domestic Crisis Hotline fashion show. As you may recall, Rotary sponsored Charena in last year's Junior Miss program.

Charena has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and is at the top of her class. Her goals are to matriculate at the University of Idaho majoring in dance and become a professional dancer/choreographer. Her ultimate goal is to become a physical therapist.

Toby Eliassen, the son of Grant and Nikki Eliassen, plans to pursue a college education with a goal of working as a technical designer for a theater. In his spare time, Toby works for his father who is an auto and marine mechanic. He has extensive experience in the performing arts in high school and is proud of the fact that others have sought out his skills to be an auditorium manager or technical director. Toby is always willing to help others. As he stated in his student-of-the-month application, "if someone needs me to do something or needs help, I will do it."
