Christmas Buffet on December 7th...
The community room at Mugsy's was full, the food was plentiful and the entertainment was outstanding.

On December 7th, the members of the Rotary Club of Bonners Ferry and their guests participated in a buffet to celebrate the holiday season. The gathering began with a delicious meatloaf, a favorite among diners at Mugsy's, mashed potatoes and gravy and tossed green salad. Christmas desserts were also provided for the sweet tooth.

Wilma Devore was the official greeter for the day, Pat Carson gave the flag salute, Ray Olson the song and Ken Yount provided the inspiration. Laura, the Club's 2010-11 exchange student, updated us on her sojourn since the previous meeting. It was noted that besides being "frozen to the bones" for most of the last several weeks, she will be leaving the McIntosh home where she has been staying since arriving in this country in mid-summer and will spend some time with Tanya and Michael Kent. Announcements were made concerning the Board meeting held earlier in the day and "happy bucks" were given in the spirit of the season. Norm Braatz provided the "Rotary Minute" and spoke about the Foundation.

The President introduced the two newest Rotarians, Patti Branson and Dave Young. Patti is a loan officer with Mountain West Bank and Dave is the owner-operator of the Liberty gas station & convenience store at the top of South Hill. A full description of the new members will be provided in a forthcoming issue of the Club Runner.

The remainder of the meeting was turned over to our program for the day. Over the next 20 minutes, the 15-member Honor Choir of Bonners Ferry High School, under the direction of David Carpenter, provided three renditions of favorite songs honoring the celebration of the season. This group has entertained us many times in the past, but this year seemed to be particularly outstanding. Thank you all!

Before we concluded, Katherine Braatz held the winning ticket for the 50-50 drawing, but drew an unlucky card, so the 4 of hearts stays hidden until our next drawing.
