Board of Directors Holds Monthly Meeting on October 5th
A condensed version of Board topics is reported below.

Bonners Ferry Rotary holds its monthly board meetings (0700 hrs) the first Tuesday of every month at the Chic 'n Chop restaurant. This last Tuesday Bill had a full agenda for us with some of the topics outlined below. In attendance: Bill McClintock - President; Wilma Devore - President-Elect & Club Administration; Ron Sukenik, Secretary; Norman Braatz - Rotary Foundation; Greg Johnson - Service Projects; Pat Carson - Representing Bill Goodanez-Membership; Mark McInnes - Public Relations; Quorum - Yes.

Top of the list for discussion and action was member dues. Dues outstanding for many members has increased. This costs Bonners Ferry Rotary $$$. We have to pay Rotary International for each member and that money has to come from dues. Please note that membership dues are due and payable on receipt of invoice and delinquent after 30 days. Moved and passed to donate $$$ to 3 very worthy causes in our community: "Pawsitive Works";"Domestic Violence Hotline"; and "Friends of the Arts." Committee to be formed to review and bring up to date the Club's By-Laws. Emphasis on the importance of a committee, starting in March, for the Kootenai River Ride. An event of this size needs much more planning than a month or two. We need a volunteer from the club to be our Club Treasurer. Wilma is filling in presently but her duties as President-Elect already have her with a full plate. Discussion was held in regards to the fact we now have 3 major fundraiser events in September, plus an outside Rotary event in the form of the WaCanId Ride. This puts a strain on volunteers as well as sponsors. There is a need to shift an event or two.

While these are not all the topics discussed, it is an overview of the October 5, 2010 Board meeting. Please help the club by paying dues on time. Thank you
