Several non-profit organizations in the community participate in the grant recipient program.  This is one of many Bonners Ferry Rotary programs undertaken each year. Money for the grant awards comes from the club's fundraisers each year including the Kootenai River Ride, the CommUNITY Breakfast & Silent Auction, the Grapes & Barley Wine Walk, the sale of Raffle Calendars and the WaCanId Bike Ride that we share with other Rotary clubs along the International Selkirk Loop.

All requests for funding must complete the form "Request for Service Funding" and present it to the Board for consideration and approval. Upon approval, representatives are invited to a Tuesday noon membership meeting at Mugsy’s to describe their organization's mission and provide a brief description of how the money will be used during the next year.  They are also presented with their funding at that time.

Rotary is a civic organization that also incorporates fun and fellowship. We are a community service organization with a focus on education. We are a service organization that focuses on both the local community needs and international needs such as the eradication of polio.
