Presidents Monthly Message

I must say that January 2024 has been a month to remember and celebrate. We started the third quarter of our Rotary year with a bang, with the expert guidance of our advisers DGN Alpo Portelli and PDG Honey Kleinberg as the first speakers for 2024. They addressed best practises for planing projects on different levels. We then continued to work on these strategies as a club during our January Club Business meeting. It was a pleasure to see how each and every member participated and contributed with ideas on how we as a club can work for the population of the Bay Islands.
January 24th 2024 should be a date, we as a Rotary Club, should not forget. This was the day we had our first official visit by the District Governor (DG) Maria Price and our newly appointed Assistant District Governor to the Club Julio Villalta. We were also informed that he will continue in this position for the Rotary Year of 2024-25. During DG Marias visit, we received the original signed Charter Document. We also had a Charter Ceremony where our members were sworn in as Rotarians, and receiving their Club and Charter Certificates. I want to again thank all family members who were present and showed their support to our club members.
I take my hat off to each and every one of you as your hard work, dedication and achievements during the first two quarters of the Rotary year has payed off as we were 32 members when we were Chartered in November and now we are 36 members strong. It just proves that the people of the Bay Islands are encouraged by your dedication and want to be a part of what we are achieving.
I am so extremely proud of how all of the members come together even though we are working on three islands. The fact that we, in January, were able to organise a Beach Cleanup on all three islands on the same day just proves our determination and unity. We were able to support and volunteer with three other organisation on the islands shows how community service orientated each and every one of you are.
I finish by thanking our Sponsoring Rotary Club, The Rotary Club of Marion, NC for their economic support towards future projects as well as The Five Island Sisters for their donations to our projects.
Until next month this Angela Clair signing off.

Yours In Rotary
