Bulletin

Volume 2 | Issue 10

Welcome to another issue of our bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speakers are, what we covered during the last Zoom meeting, and learn more about our Members of the Month.
December is Disease Prevention and Treatment Month

Rotary International's theme for December is Disease Prevention and Treatment, one of its six Areas of Focus, highlighting efforts like polio eradication, clean water, and health education, though many clubs also focus on "Family Month" traditions and holiday service projects. Clubs use this month to organize health initiatives, raise awareness about diseases (malaria, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, etc.), support vaccination, and provide medical care, all while tying into their global mission to create healthier communities.
Key Aspects of December's Theme:
  • Polio Eradication: Rotary's flagship initiative, working to end polio worldwide.
  • Health Initiatives: Projects in malaria prevention, maternal health, sanitation (WASH), and mental health.
  • Health Education: Seminars and community outreach on preventative care.
Dual Focus:
  • Official Theme: Disease Prevention and Treatment.
  • Traditional Focus: Many districts still call December "Family Month," hosting holiday events and emphasizing family well-being alongside health efforts.
Club Activities:
  • Organizing blood drives or health camps.
  • Supporting local food banks and toy drives for the holidays.
  • Promoting The Rotary Foundation and its global health impact.
