Congratulations to Beth Shaw (centre) for winning this year's Canoe Raffle! Ashley Blix of The Paddle Shack (right)  President Elect Steve Vickers make the presentation. The canoe was donated by The Paddle Shack and we sold tickets between Canada Day & Labour Day.
Time Lapse video of our Wild Game Dinner last Saturday night. Many thanks to all who came out to support our project. A good time was had by all. 3 hours reduced to 7 minutes.
Many thanks to all who attended our event on March 25th and to our Craft Beer & Wine Vendors for some amazing samples of your tasty products. Thanks also to R Cottage Washago for the incredible foods. The evening was a huge success and the funds will be used for worthy projects in our community such as a fountain at Centennial Beach this spring and the rejuvenation of our water tower. Thanks to all!
John LeBarr
On March 18th our club hosted an event where members of the community selected a new image for our Water Tower. Congratulations to local resident John LeBarr for his image (above) being selected with the largest number of votes. There were over 400 votes cast and John's painting received the largest number of ballots. Now Friends of the Washago Water Tower will arrange to have this image installed on the tower.
Congratulations to Eddwin (Ted) Tibble of Mississauga on having his ticket pulled on September 10th from our 2016 Canoe Raffle. Ted purchased the ticket on Canada Day on Muskoka Street before the Canada Day Parade. Ted is pictured (center) between Club Past President Janet Stead (left) and Chris McDermott of The Paddle Shack (right). Many thanks to The Paddle Shack for donating the winning canoe again this year. All funds raised from the project will go toward supporting our programs for youth.
Many thanks to all who participated in this year's Washago Solstice Paddle on the river.
Our club supported Mila Tuju's participation at the Camp Couchiching Leadership Development Program this past summer. As a guest speaker, Mila explained to our club the beneficial effects it had on her life. She is joined by program director Candy Potter (left and acting president Glenys Hepinstall (right).
Dan Herbert was proud to present Janet Stead with her sixth Paul Harris Fellow. Once you have made a donation of $1000.00 U.S. to the Rotary Foundation, you become a Paul Harris Fellow. With each following $1000.00 you become a multi-Paul Harris,  the status denoted by the stones on the award pin. Janet Stead  was presented with her 6th Paul Harris Fellow as shown by the ruby stone. We are very proud of our member, Janet Stead, and grateful for all the work she does on behalf of both the local and international communities, through her financial and volunteer work with Rotary.
Look for Janet's picture in the display case outside Home Hardware. For a small club, we are producing many award winners. .
Congratulations to Mark Scott for winning the prestigious Mini-Putt Trophy!
Congratulations to Klevas Grinias (centre) for purchasing the winning ticket to our Kayak Raffle. Many thanks to Chris McDermott (left) of Muskoka Paddle Shack for donating the kayak to our raffle. President Chris Carman (right).
