More than 30 Northport-area business, professional and other community-minded people make up the membership of the Rotary Club of Northport, serving the Northport, Suffolk, New York, U.S. and global communities since 1927. The membership represents a wide cross section of the local community, including bankers, attorneys, landscapers, real estate brokers, accountants, energy providers, financial consultants, teachers, martial artists, physical therapists, management consultants, art gallery owners, engineers, school administrators, funeral directors, store owners, construction managers,Pharmaceutical providers, insurance agents, and dentists.
Northport Rotary is involved in a wide range of community activities in support of the Ecumenical Food Pantry, Northport Veterans Administration, Northport-East Northport Library, Northport Community Arts Theater, and Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Suffolk. The club also supports various Rotary outreach programs, including Gift of Life, Rotary Youth Exchange, Northport High School Interact Club, Harborfields High School Interact Club, Polio Plus, and District 7255 Haiti projects. Northport Rotary also initiates its own community projects, including Holiday Helpers, Pizza Nights at the VA, and various assistance to local families in crisis. The club focuses particularly on supporting needs where hands-on assistance is part of the solution and where individual club members are actively involved.
Club meetings and service projects provide ample opportunity to build and enjoy strong friendships, fellowship and fun among the members. It makes "Service Above Self" a joyful experience.
