August Food Drive – This month’s food drive will be held this weekend, 8/11 & 8/12. We anticipate that representatives of the recipient food pantry will handle the food drive on Sunday, August 12th so that BRC members can focus on Dirty Sock Run chores that day. If you can help for a couple of hours on Saturday August 11th, please contact Chris Cunningham (chris.cnnnghm@gmail.com) NOW.

Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck – Our Annual BBQ Lunch for the kids and counselors at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches is set for Wednesday, August 22nd – details to follow.

Club Assembly Next Week – We will hold a very important club assembly at our next regular meeting on Wednesday, August 15th. Discussion topics will include our meeting venue and new fundraising possibilities. All members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions.

Food Drive Volunteer Coordinator – For the past seven years, Chris Cunningham has been organizing and coordinating all aspects of our monthly food drives; it’s time to give him a break. His workload can be greatly reduced if another member can take on the volunteer recruitment/coordination job. The job can be made even easier if two or more members share the task. If you would like to help, please contact Chris (chris.cnnnghm@gmail.com) asap.

Frank Seibert Honored – The Selection Committee has announced that this year’s recipient of the Annual Babylon Village Nathanial Conklin Award is our own Frank Seibert. This award is given in recognition of outstanding, long term, volunteer service to the Village of Babylon; a well-deserved honor for our past president. Congratulations Frank!

Today’s Meeting

Scott Lockwood gave a summary of the results of today’s board meeting. Since no speaker was scheduled for today, we held a Fellowship Meeting, with lots of time to chat with fellow members and guests.

Next Week’s Meeting

Our next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 15th, 12:15 PM at Lily Flanagan’s Pub. A club assembly will be held at this meeting where issues of great importance to every member will be discussed. It is therefore essential that all members attend.
