Updates & Announcements:Mayor Mary Adams Visits BRC: Please join us for our next zoom meeting (Tomorrow, Weds Feb 17th) for a chat with our special guest speaker Mayor Mary Adams. Mary Adams is Babylon Village's FIRST female mayor in history! She will be providing us with updates regarding Babylon Village and is happy to answer any questions from the membership. Soles4Souls Shoe Drive: President Elect Megan Noble is again heading up our annual shoe drive for Soles4Souls. Shoes can be dropped of at her office located at 1801 Argyle Sq. in Babylon Village. We have volunteers available to pick up shoes from you as well if you are not able to make the trip. Call for Volunteers to fill Board of Directors positions: Club Service is one of the 5 Avenues of Service and is a great way to strengthen comradery and get to know your fellow Rotarians. Scholarship Committee History: Over the past 62 years, the Babylon Rotary Club has provided nearly a half-million dollars of college scholarships to deserving high school students. The Babylon Rotary Scholarship Program was founded by Ferdinand Gutmann, a unique Rotarian of great personal and moral courage, who was devoted to the encouragement and advancement of young people, worldwide, goodwill and peace. As chairman of the committee for the last several years, Marc Horowitz has carried on the great tradition of this club project. We look forward to the possibility of safely presenting the scholarships in person this year in June. Rotary Basics Rotary’s core values represent the guiding principles of the organization’s culture, including what guides members’ priorities and actions within the organization. Values are an increasingly important component in strategic planning because they drive the intent and direction of the organization’s leadership.
