Today’s Program

Terry Prag and Allison Baber gave an update on the Babylon Breast cancer Coalition (BBCC). Some background borrowed from their website:
The BBCC is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to various breast and gynecological cancer concerns. Founded in 1993, the BBCC continues to be a grass-roots organization, providing an array of patient support services, education and advocacy programs.

They focus on five essential goals: Prevention, Research, Education, Service and Support offering a wide variety of programs and services to educate and assist those in Babylon Township who are affected by breast cancer or any gynecological cancer.

The BBCC helps patients and families during difficult times with support, transportation, prepared meals, house cleaning, financial assistance and more.

In addition to assisting with the basic needs of those battling cancer, the BBCC also reaches out to the community at large, providing educational programs to encourage healthier lifestyles that would decrease the still very high instance of these cancers.

Terry and Allison emphasized next week’s Turkeys Against Cancer event as announced above. Although they can use help in many areas, they stressed the urgent need for drivers to deliver the turkey dinners to needy families.

The continued success of the BBCC depends primarily on the hard work of dedicated volunteers, annual fundraisers and donations. If you’re interested in helping, please visit their website: babylonbreastcancer.org.

Our Next Program
