The Salish Sea is an inlet of the Pacific Ocean on the West Coast of Canada/US, or Turtle Island. It is held together by the Georgia Depression, created through the collision of tectonic plates around 150M years ago.

The union of the Fraser River and the Salish sea makes the waters near San Juan Islands end up behaving like an estuary, the reduces salinity and heightened nutrition makes for a treasure trove for biodiversity.

Belonging to the Salish Sea are 253 fish species and 37 species of marine mammals. Orcas, salmon, moon snails. Harbor seals and a myriad of shoreline birds that feast in the intertidal zones.
The Salish Sea is a cradle of Nature and we are honored to advocate for its protection.
