This month started with a hive of activity following our first birthday celebrations. We dove into Rotary membership month with our first Facebook campaign. Alina did an incredible job to share our journey and the Rotary experience with our followers.
As we moved into our second year, we decided to break down the board roles in tasks and boosted the larger portfolios with more hands in our clusters to support where needed.
These changes saw new faces coming to share the journey as Herbie Howard from Cairns Australia took on the Treasurers role and Rhiannon moved into Projects to share her passion on a larger scale.
As the month came to a close Jude returned to Brand Image chair from her break and we are looking forward to taking a fresh look at our constitution and by-laws and reviewing our strategic plan over the next few weeks.
I look forward to the journey ahead as more members do My Rotary training and learn how the system works so we can put ourselves in an advantageous position to obtain more grants.
I will be working at a much slower pace over the next 12 months to allow the membership to produce and deliver with a focus to reduce the number of preventable deaths by drowning every year.
The swim is done and the funds are being worked out now. RC Alexandra Headlands have confirmed a donation of $5,000 and will advise if there are more funds to allow us to do more.
As this month is full of school holidays we will start to coordinate all the areas for the program to roll out as soon as possible.ng.
The Swimming Gift
The Swimming Gift is now moving forward with a new committee to take the helm in the new Rotary year. So far we have delivered a massive Triple T project in Asia and several pick ups and drop offs for the 2nd Dip.
As a club within multiple Districts we need to focus on ways to increase donations to ensure we have sufficient funds to support programs wherever they are needed.

The Mummy Eve Project
Supporting new mothers in third world countries, disaster and emergencies. This project is moving forward looking for partners to support us along the way.

As chair of the Mummy Eve Project I am joining together with Shelterbox to raise funds for people suffering homelessness due to disasters and emergencies. Our Mummy Eve packs are designed to support new mothers for the first month post birth when systems and infrastructure do not provide for those in need. Shelterbox is a leader in the business structure and project development in this space. So, to learn from them, I am taking the challenge. 6 Days in the Tasmanian wilderness sleeping under the stars to raise AUD 3,000 for this great cause.
