This month started with the team in Phuket finalising the programs and MP moving to Cambodia whilst Stacy and Rhiannon headed back to work in Australia. Our first international project was a huge success with more teachers qualifying than expected and a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to get started on the learn to swim programs in so many locations. The paperwork complete and the District grant return was completed and shared. This is a big task as all funds must be accounted for and receipts provided. Showing Rotary International that our governance is exceptional and we respect their auditing process is an important part of getting grants in the future.
We had the District conference this month and as many of you heard from our club mentor PDG Jitendra our club was mentioned several times and there is a lot of interest in how we run our club and the types of projects that keep us all connected.
Our club has also featured in numerous newspaper and online articles over the last month. A great achievement to draw attention to our projects as we ask for clubs to contribute USD 650 to The Swimming Gift.
Once again we have delivered and our club is going from strength to strength. We need to bring some new members into the club to help on our committees and bring more projects to life. If anyone has a spare hour or two a month they can help us get flyers done or run a meeting please let me know. Every bit of help adds up to share the load.
The Triple T (Train the Trainer) tour Asia 2023 saw us deliver the Swim Australia Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety course & CPR across Chiang Mai, Phuket & Phnom Penh. We also delivered the Babies & Toddlers course in Chiang Mai and Phnom Penh and the Learner with a Disability in Chiang Mai. It was a big task but the rewards were there for all who participated. We made friends, shared food and learnt a lot.
Whilst we were there we presented our club to the Chiang Mai International Rotary Club and the RC Patong Beach. MP received an award for her contribution to childrens health in the region
Our next big project is the Rotary Water Safety Campaign rolling out in September on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. The RC Alexandra Headlands have requested a grant of AUD 5,000 for us to run a water safety program on the Sunshine Coast. As I never look a gift horse in the mouth our leadership team agreed to use this opportunity to increase our profile, raise funds towards our other projects and develop a program for disadvantaged youth in the region. We are working with Scripture Union who run the school chaplaincy program to ensure the participants are taken from the most needy schools in the area and those who are less likely to have swimming lessons without the support.
Mummy Eve Project
The Mummy Eve Project is now starting to take shape. We are looking for a few more committee members. If you are keen to make a difference and want to get the water safety message out to the most vulnerable members, then we need you on this committee. It isn't a huge time commitment, but every bit of help is important.
We have a stand at the House of Friendship to spread the word about our club amongs the 23,000 people expected to attend over the 4 days. We will be sharing our stand with the Global Nurses & Midwives RC.
District Governor Tim Keeley Club Visit
Monday 26 June
Our District Governor will be visiting our zoom meeting on Monday 26 June. He is an inspiring speaker and I would like to see 100% turnout at this meeting. I also believe our new Area Governor Greig Lee-Archer will be there as well.
Changeover / Anniversary

On Monday 24 July we celebrate our 1st birthday. We will also take the opportunity to announce our new leadership team for the next 12 months. Anyone who is prepared to take on a minor role on the leadership team your help will be appreciated.
