A Special Meeting ... We Inducted a New Member!

President Bob called the meeting to order promptly at noon. He welcomed everyone and announced how honored he was that he is the Club's President.

Don Sather delivered a meaningful Invocation to start our meeting.  Don thanked God for the nice weather we're having.  His relationship with God is such that he felt comfortable to ask Him to keep it (the weather) that way through out the entire summer!  Let's see if Don's prayer gets answered.

Betsy Spath led us in the Pledge of Allegiance then Jack Parkinson led us in the Four-Way Test.  Several Rotarians finished it by adding "Have Fun!". Don Sather, our music chair, deferred to Maestro Paul Hofstad to lead us in two songs.

Birt Kellam provided the "Fun-n-Games" and took money from every table.  Good Job Birt!!  We had an abbreviated "Happy Bucks" due to a very full meeting! There was close to $890 in the lucky drawing and it stayed there!  Yay!

We inducted new member Jerry Solomon into the Rotary Club of Sun City West sponsored by Bill Cogdal.

Dick Stuckey was the Rotary Host for our speaker Belinda Roda of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for "Our Little Brothers and Sisters"). Belinda shared with the members about how she got involved with NPH and how the organization helps children around the world. Their US headquarters is located in the Scottsdale area. Her presentation was full of energy for the entire 20 minutes after which she took many questions for 5 minutes then stayed after the meeting to answer many more questions.

Kathy Linton closed our meeting with this quote from Bernie Siegel, retired pediatric surgeon and writer, "Inspiration is the greatest gift ... because it opens your life to many new possibilities. Each day becomes more meaningful, and your life is enhanced when your actions are guided by what inspires you!."
