Frances shared an update on our outbound exchange student Olivia who is in Peru.  Her language skills are progressing.  She has assisted in two local Rotary projects building water towers in some rural communities.
 
Ron Fraser is reminding members to sign up for duties for the upcoming dragon boast festival.

Program –
Ifhan Hudda gave a “Rotary Membership Minute” talk on the topic “Why I am Happy to Be a Rotarian”.  He told his story about his family being sponsored to come to Canada by a Rotarian from Welland Ontario.  Ifhan’s family was forced to leave Uganda during the dictatorship of Idi Amin when he forced the expulsion of all Asians from the country in 1972.  That is mainly why he joined Rotary.
 
The Club officially welcomed Christine Shaw as our newest member.

Lisa introduced Richard Hamilton from the Ministry of Agriculture who facilitated our strategic planning process.  The goal of the exercise was to set priorities and plans for the club in the next 2-3 years.
