We are at our regular meeting place this Friday, as we begin our planning for the International Day of Peace on September 21st.
Last week we welcomed Assistant Governor Brendan Kennedy to our club meeting. He talked about his role in the District and how he is a resource to our club. He also spoke of District Governor Nancy Van Pelt and her desire for every club to appoint a Vocational Service Chair and a District Conference Chair. If you are willing to help out with either of these roles, please let me know. Both of these positions are light work; I'll talk more about these in our upcoming meetings.
We hosted our 3rd Annual Arizona Rotary Water Summit this past Saturday in Phoenix. There were 37 people at the event, with lots of great information and people. You can see all of the presentations, videos, roster, etc. at this link: Here is a photo that was taken when we adjourned; about half the attendees are missing from the photo.
Finally, we have been approached by the clothing bank coordinator at the Vineyard Food & Clothing Bank about a current need they have, with the hopes that we might be able to help. They are in need of boys and men's socks. From now through our meeting on September 1st, please bring boys and/or men's socks (or money to purchase them) to our club meeting. They must be either new or like new. Thank you for considering this; it is a critical need for many families in our area.
See you Friday morning in the big room at Brothers!
With gratitude,
