We said goodbye to Charlotte Verzini and Scott Lekan at our meeting on Friday. It was good to see them both, and a little sad to see them leave. Dave Tiller said it best when he put a Happy Dollar in the can. He said, "I'm happy to see two friends, at different stages in their lives, starting new chapters in their lives." Here's a photo of those who said "Adieu!"
Something I failed to mention at the meeting. We made a difference in someone's life this past week. The City of Glendale called us to see if we could help a blind, homebound, senior citizen by providing her with a microwave oven. President Sherylea quickly approved our club using $100 for this purpose. It's not a glamorous photo, but here it is anyhow! And you can read the City's thank you note HERE.
One more piece of club business - if you haven't paid your dues yet this quarter, please do so as soon as you can. This will help us pay our RI and District dues on time this month.
We will be meeting at Brothers again this coming Friday, in the main restaurant. At our meeting, we will be taking a few minutes to review the strategies we talked about on the 14th. Also, please bring your "What is Peoria Rotary?" elevator speech with you. Write it down if you have the chance.
It looked like everyone enjoyed Sweet Tomatoes yesterday. I wonder how much money we made? Thanks to all who participated!
I hope to see you on Friday for breakfast!
With gratitude,
