Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in Kingman, we have decided to halt our weekly meetings.  We hope everyone stays safe and makes good choices.  See you in 2021.

We were pleased to hear a presentation from Kingman's Police Chief Rusty Cooper. Chief Cooper shared current events in the law enforcement spectrum and talked about keeping our officers safe as well as the public. He answered several of our member's questions as well. Great information Chief! 

 

  

District Governor Dave Simmer attended the club lunch on Sept. 25, 2019. He shared the importance of Rotarians being "People of Action" by sharing everywhere what we do and proudly wearing our Rotary pins. He also talked about our new theme "Rotary Connects the World" and shared that there were only 3 reported cases of polio this year due in large part to the efforts of Rotary and vaccinations in many countries. There are only 2 countries remaining, Afghanistan and Nigeria, for polio to be completely eradicated. His presentation was very enthusiastic and motivational. 

District Governor Dave Simmer welcomes new member Kristen Ott, a 3rd generation Rotarian, to our club.

Charlie and Tammy Lucero have much to be proud of, their oldest daughter Paige is accomplishing great things.  Paige spoke about her years at Lee Williams and her accomplishments as well as her goals for the future.  She will be an asset to athletic medicine someday.

Gary Kellogg, Director for Planning and Economic Development and Tourism for the City of Kingman. Gary gave an update on the improvements the City has made at the airport in a short amount of time. He also spoke about upcoming projects.

Our first Student Rotarian of this school year, Julian Mann.  Julian is very impressive and will do great things.

The first award for the 18-19 school year went to Margaret Smith.

Debi Sherwood had the program honors today, she invited Bill Ward of The Club for Youth, formerly known as The Boys and Girls Club.  Bill fosters an environment rich in positivity, structure and support consisting of many forms.  Whether the children need assistance with homework or help with everyday problems, the Club is there.  Bill is anticipating a move to a larger facility, construction to start as early as 2020.  Donations are not only welcomed but necessary to make their goals.  Thank you to Bill for making a difference in Kingman's youth.

 

Kingman's  first Lego League came to present their scientific findings on a solution for rainfall runoff entering the city's sewer system.  They did a great job.  We wish them much luck on their upcoming competition in Flagstaff.
